Open Source has come to mean many things to many people. Some choose to focus on the openness of code, some on standards, and most people understand there is some element of community. This talk will give you the tools to recognise a successful FOSS project, to create your own FOSS project, to understand which companies are playing FOSS for real, and to understand the main facets that make up what we commonly know as Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

As President and then Vice President of Linux Australia, she deals with Open Source developers, the community, businesses and Government. She currently works for a research project looking at the use of OSS in the Research and Education sectors and also does Open Source consulting in her own business, Waugh Partners.
