lazarus (http://lazarus.openpascal.org) is a language and IDE that is similar to what delphi programmers are familiar with. The concepts and language in Delphi have been ported to an environment that runs on various OS configurations , including windows and linux. This talk will be about how to set up and use lazarus to build simple GUI programs.

While delphi was ported to linux (called kylix) , its development seems to have stagnated. Lazarus takes over where kylix left off.
